Both teams have struggled to pick up points having won promotion to Brunel 2 last season and this fixture was always going to be a close encounter. Cheddar started well with Jo white, Julie Callow and Jacky Farley getting into the D but the shots at goal failed to find the target. Mendip's centre forward was a constant threat but Jo Franks and Anna Athay combined well to keep her at bay whilst keeper Rogers marshalled the rest of the defensive line. After a goalless first half Cheddars coach decided to change the formation and as a result they looked the more composed team solid at the back and holding midfield. with Nicky Baines and Sian Snelgrove in fine form. The only goal of the game came 15 minutes from the end with Cheddar's captain Callow showing grit and detemination to battle her way into the D and slot the ball past the keeper. Both teams gave their all to try and secure some much needed points but Cheddar came out victors. Player of match given jointly to Callow and Issy Baines
