Match Report | Redland UWE 3rd 2 Cheddar 2nds 0 After a very early start way too early for a Saturday morning, the game started well with Cheddar managing to hold their defence in the first half of the match, coping with any circle entries that Redland created and a 0-0 score at half time. Defence held well in the beginning of the second half but Cheddar struggled to get an opportunity for a shot on goal. Without any prior warnings, and due to an inexperienced umpire, a Cheddar player got a green card for a stick tackle meaning Cheddar were down to 10 players. Eventually Redland managed to score with a well-constructed goal sent in from the right to an unmarked player on the back post. They managed to score a second goal in the final couple of minutes as Cheddar had committed players and pushed up to try to take a share of the points. Player of the match was Jackie Farley– as for the rest of the team……must try harder next week in a local fixture at Kings Fitness and Leisure 10am v Mid Somerset 2nds
