Cheddar 1 Vs Keynsham 1

This fixture has always been a close encounter with a 3-3 draw earlier in the season and although Knowle were already winners of the division Cheddar wanted to avenge last weeks narrow defeat and ensure a runners up position. Both teams struggled with the freezing conditions and biting wind and chances in the first half were few and far between. Kirstie Sugg's pace was troubling the opposition and a great run from half way saw her strike beat the GK only to hit the post. Goalless at half time but with the snow coming horizontally across the pitch the possibility of abandoning was discussed. However the wind abated as the second half progressed. Cheddars midfield Sarah Hind Emily Bear Millie Warren and Aimee Wilson were holding their own and good defence by Mads Street Zoe Humber and Julie Callow kept Keynsham's attacks to a minimum. But it was Keysham who took the lead  - Cheddar had pushed up but conceded a free hit in midfield which was quickly taken catching Cheddar napping and a cross from the right duly converted. Cheddar were quick to respond with Millie Norman striking from the top of the D to equalise. Kirstie Sugg then deservedly gave Cheddar the lead with a solo effort only for Keysham to equalise 5 minutes from time to ensure another drawn game. Players and umpires Bridget Bolland and Tom Pearce must be congratulated for braving the elements and ensuring a good game took place
