Cheddar 2 Vs North Somerset 2nds

A young North Somerset seconds team dominated the first 20 minutes of this game attacking hard from their strong right side putting Cheddar defence under constant pressure. Cheddar defence worked hard but struggled to clear the ball out to their attacking players. North Somerset scored the first goal leaving the score 1-0 to North Somerset at half time. Second half Cheddar came back stronger keeping possession of the ball; a foul in the D gave Cheddar a short corner and a chance to level the score with Jo Teagle scoring. Cheddar, with renewed energy, continued to gain possession with some lovely passes between young forwards Issy Baines, Flora and Millie Stoyles resulting in the next goal from new comer Jayne Adams who hit the rebound off the post into the goal. North Somerset kept the pressure up right to the end but couldn’t score past Cheddars strong defence. This was a game that could have gone either way, Cheddar worked hard and put into practise their game plan lead by Captain Julie Callow to win the match.
